Isla Vista Youth Projects

Isla Vista Youth Projects arose from the early 1970s chaos in Isla Vista. Following the riots and the burning of the Bank of America, the children and families of Isla Vista required assistance, strength, and resilience.

Isla Vista Youth Projects sowed the seeds for a resilient, creative, and thriving community by creating a community that valued children and enabled families to work and access the social services and support they required.

Our mission has grown as we have served more children and families in the Goleta Valley over the years. However, our goal is still the same. We exist not only to provide direct services to families in need, but also to convene community members and stakeholders for the benefit of all.
