Every year, Project Undercover aims to supply 1,000,000 diapers and 180,000 pairs of underwear and socks to 20,000 children in need.Values• Every child has the right to a clean, dry bottom.

• Our community owes it to all needy children to provide them with the bare necessities.
• Everyone should be treated with dignity, compassion, and integrity.

History
Richard Fleischer, our founder and president, was concerned about the cost of diapers for his newly adopted daughter in 1992. He wondered how poorer families could afford such an outlay, and he was convinced that the need was too great to ignore. So he and longtime friend Frank DePetrillo decided to take action.

Project Undercover began as a small group of volunteers organizing an annual diaper drive through a unique partnership with the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island.

Every April for nearly 15 years, they have successfully collected and distributed thousands of diapers. However, with approximately 45,000 Rhode Island children living in poverty (20,000 of whom are under the age of seven), the Project needed to grow.

Project Undercover became a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2010. We have an active volunteer board and collaborate with 25 partner agencies across the state to provide diapers, socks, wipes, and underwear to needy RI families. We use data from the Rhode Island Department of Human Services to ensure that we have the greatest possible impact.
