The Village Diaper Bank

We believe that changing diapers changes people’s lives. Discover how a hurricane, a little hope, and a lot of hard work resulted in the establishment of The Village Diaper Bank.

Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Gulf of Mexico in late August 2017, with its sights set on Texas. Its prolonged landfall caused widespread devastation throughout the Houston Metro Area, destroying homes, killing people, and leaving families reeling. My in-laws have lived in the Houston area for many years, and not long ago, I lived on a tiny island just a stone’s throw away.

Hearing about Harvey’s wrath broke my heart for all of the families whose futures were now in jeopardy. It was heartbreaking to see photos of our beloved little island submerged in floodwaters.
