Volunteers of America Mommy’s Closet

Mommy’s Closet is a free crisis resource center that assists low-income families with children under the age of five.
Families with young children have specific needs that some parents find difficult to meet, and Mommy’s Closet helps by supplying necessities to help take care of babies and children.
Mommy’s Closet is a safe place for parents to come and discuss parenting, housing, education, employment, and general financial issues.

A Mommy’s Closet caseworker will work with parents to do the following in addition to providing diapers, wipes, formula, personal hygiene products, and clothing up to size 5T:

– Assist them in identifying barriers to self sufficiency.
– Assist them in developing success plans.
– Assist families in regaining control of their lives.

They also give you access to:
– Referrals for additional help
– Case management and customer service
– Parenting workshops

Mommy’s Closet is now a distributor of child safety seats.Please call to schedule an appointment. The South Dakota Department of Social Services provides child seats.
